Sweet & Juicy
The most widely recognized of all U.S. apple varieties originated in Iowa in the 1870s. This sweet, crispy, juicy apple varies in color from striped red to solid midnight red. They are grown across the country, but only our Red Delicious have the slight tartness so characteristic of apples from New York. If you haven't tried a New York Red Delicious, you haven't tried what we consider the best Delicious.

Availability
Red Delicious apples are harvested in late October. You can find Sun Orchard Reds in retailers October through August.
